10th-Apr-2010 10:01 pm - found dog
Found near the corner of 16th and Fillmore.

He's a German Shepherd Dog, or lookalike mix.
Possibly 4 months old or so.

Fawn undercoat and belly, with a black mask.

No collar.

He's sweet tempered, and clearly has learned some indoor manners--such as not getting on humans' furniture.

Garden State
Hi All,

Does anyone know of any writing clubs, or places that hold poetry slams, open mic nights, that kind of thing?
8th-Oct-2009 01:51 pm - local dentists with payment plans?
I have 3-4 teeth that need some fillings (2 already had them, but they were in odd locations and eventually fell out, so need to be replaced) and I have no insurance. I've also been out of work for about 9 months, so I don't have any savings. I need to find a local dentist who will work out a reasonable payment plan and I don't even know where to begin. Anybody here know of one? Any info you have on what the "payment plan" is would be awesome as well. My boyfriend is going to have to make the payments for me for a bit, so I need to make sure it's something he can actually afford to do. Thanks for the help!
My wife and I recently started a great new business offering self defense products and home security equipment (FuzzCountry.com). I thought you would all be interested in what we have to offer. We carry many self defense products, both lethal and non-lethal. We sell stun guns, tasers, martial arts gear, batons (including expandable batons), knives, swords, pepper spray and so much more. We also carry high tech spy gear, surveillance equipment and various home security products. If you're interested, please take a look at what we have to offer.

We are passionate about the products we sell, and we are strong proponents of self defense products and alternatives to firearms, particularly in areas where firearms are not allowed. Our customer service is excellent, and we offer a professional, legitimate online shopping experience! We will go above and beyond for you!

So, below is a link to the site. Please feel free to email us with any feedback as to how we can improve the site:

hey everybody - are there any gardeners out there?

I got some really awesome compost at the natural state expo, but it was only enough for one small pot.  I need to re pot a rather sick plant, and I'm thinking about starting a garden once it warms up a bit anyway, so I was wondering if anybody could suggest a place to find compost - preferably free.

I know the city landfill composts yard waste, but they sell it by the ton!  I don't need that much, just a bit, but I don't know where to find it and finances are limited.  has anybody bought from the landfill before?  is it even open in january? I'm very new to gardening and I'd compost on my own, but I don't know how yet and I think my parents would object to a large pile of rotting stuff in their yard, especially since I don't know what I'm doing and would probably screw it up somehow.

any advice would be appreciated.  any organic gardeners out there in need of help, let me know.  I'd love to learn.
21st-Jan-2009 04:56 pm - ASL Classes?
random, blah
Does anyone have experience with the beginner's ASL class at the Arkansas School for the Deaf?  Were your experiences positive or negative?  How much did you learn in ASL 1?  Enough to carry on a conversation with a deaf person?

I am a hearing person with a public service job looking to expand my customer service skills, and I am wondering if it will teach me enough to communicate with deaf patrons.

Thanks in advance.
